Using Air Filter to Achieve Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction in Industrial Cleaning System
Air filters are an essential component of industrial cleaning systems, which are applied for filtering dust, microorganisms and other impurities in the air to enhance air quality and safety. However, the performance and selection of air filters will directly impact the efficiency and energy consumption of industrial cleaning systems in the following ways:
Selecting the Proper Type and Size of Air Filter
Different industrial environments have different requirements for air quality, so it is necessary to choose the proper type and size of air filter to meet the air quality requirements while reducing pressure loss and airflow consumption.
Generally speaking, air filters are classfied into three types: Pre-Filters, Secondary Filters and HEPA Filters. Pre-Filters are mainly used to filter large particles of dust, Secondary Efficiency Air Filters are mainly used to filter medium particles of dust and some microorganisms, and HEPA Filters are used to filter small particles of dust and most of the microorganisms. When selecting air filters, the number and location of Pre-Filters, Secondary Filters and HEPA Air Filters should be reasonably allocated according to the cleaning level and airflow requirements of the industrial setting. If using lower grade of air filter, it will result in reduced air quality. On the other hand, if using higher grade of filter, it may also result in high pressure loss and require the air conditioning system to use more operating power in order to achieve the required air quality in the field.
Regular Maintenance of Air Filters
More and more dust and impurities will be accumulated on the air filter with time, which increases air resistance, reduces airflow, and affects the effectiveness and energy consumption of the industrial cleaning systems. Therefore, the air filter needs to be replaced or cleaned regularly to maintain the filtration performance. In general, the primary air filter should be replaced or cleaned at every 3 to 5 months, the secondary air filters should be replaced or cleaned every 5 to 7 months or so, and the high efficiency air filter should be replaced or cleaned every 12 months, but the frequency of replacement depends on the environment in which it is used.
Hencolin also provides a regular filter replacement service, directly delivering new filters to users on a regular basis to address their concerns about the replacement cycle.
Customization and R&D for Advanced Air Filters
In different industries, customization of air filters can be done according to individual conditions to maximize the filters performance.
For example, in the semiconductor industry, the chemical filters used in cleanrooms have different adsorption capacities for three types of substances, such as acidic gases, base gases, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), etc. Therefore, by adjusting the ratio of organic compounds adsorbed by the filters, the service life span of the chemical filters can be doubled.
Through the development of innovative filter structure, in addition to energy saving, it can reduce the waste. There is also the so-called “Regenerative Filter”, which can physically restore its initial adsorption efficiency, so that the filter can be reused, such as All Stainless Steel Filter, can be washed and reused; or replace the adsorption saturated self-supporting filter, self-supporting material molding does not require wire mesh to be fixed, which brings the benefits of carbon reduction. Our new design eliminates the need for wire mesh and helps reduce the carbon footprint at the source. At the same time, this filter provides excellent filtration to effectively remove airborne pollutants and provide a fresh and healthy indoor environment. The technology combines the features of environmental protection and efficiency to achieve sustainable development.
By using the right filter, not only can we meet the air quality needs of the semiconductor industry, but also achieve the goal of reducing waste and energy consumption, fulfilling the two major visions of corporate development and environmental sustainability at the same time.
